The Nightfire Legacy

Merec the Smuggler has finally completed Chapter 1 of his class story and I've finally unlocked my Legacy. Yep, I know, I'm a slow leveller - most of my guild are now level 50 and I am only just starting Chapter 2 at level 32. I am still absolutely loving the game however and I do not feel any urge to rush to the level 50 whatsoever. Now that my Legacy is unlocked I'm going to start work on a few alts as well- the Nightfire family will soon be invading the Galaxy.

Legacy Unlocked!

Merec Nightfire
I actually found it quite difficult to pick my Legacy name, and matters weren't helped by the fact that my original choice was already taken. It's takes a little more thought than in other MMOs as once chosen it cannot be changed, plus it will be applied to all of the characters on the account. Therefore I needed something that I liked the sound of, had that Star Wars feel, would be appropriate for both Republic and Empire characters and would look good as both a surname and as a Legacy title. I'm pretty happy with my final choice.

So, let's meet the members of the Nightfire Legacy that I have planned so far.

Garret Nightfire

A Trooper named Garret is first, Merec's father. Surly and with little time for fools he recently joined the Republic's forces on Ord Mantell after losing his wife in an Imperial attack.

Rillian Nightfire

Rillian, Merec's half-sister (they share their father) is a Mirialan Consular. Despite being raised in the Republic she does not believe they are strong enough in their fight against the Empire and would rather they take more direct action.

Kylath of the Nightfire Legacy

Kylath was Rillian's husband before they separated. He is a Rattataki Imperial Agent though he was working undercover when he met Rillian, and she had no idea of his true allegiance. He will do whatever he feels is in the best interest of the Empire's civilians, regardless of whether the Sith approve or not.

Tortious of the Nightfire Legacy

Finally, Tortious is Kylath's cousin via his paternal uncle. He is a Sith Warrior who believes the Sith cannot afford to be so rigorous and conservative in their actions.

So, that's the Nightfire Legacy so far, though I am sure a few more long-lost relatives will appear in the not-too-distant future.

As a  player who has spent a lot of time role-playing in other games I really like the idea of the Legacy system. I'm looking forwards to earning some Legacy experience (all characters on my account will now contribute to my Legacy xp bar) and seeing what bonuses I can unlock following the systems full integration in March.

Current rumours suggest the system will unlock new race/class combinations, new customisation options, and possibly even new content. We'll only know for sure come the March update.

  2. My first choice was Skyfire, but it was taken. I then went through a hundred variations on a theme before arriving at Nightfire. Never thought it would be so hard!
