May the Tweets be with you...

It's been a bit of a mixed weekend. My kids have both been ill, so my leisure time has been severely curtailed (they are slowly recovering now, not sure I am!). I did however manage to find some time to play The Old Republic during this weekend's massive stress test in which anyone who had applied to test the game was finally invited onboard.

Despite a few minor niggles the stress test seems to have gone off very well, with the vast majority very happy with their test experiences. Considering there were hundreds of thousands of testers and most of the servers were showing as full for most of the weekend, I found there to be almost zero lag and had a blast. Even when I had to play on a West Coast US server due to the queues the game ran as smooth as butter.

The problem I now face is that I have to decide whether to continue playing or not in the run up to the game's launch (less than three weeks to go!). I'm torn because I want to come to the game as fresh as possible after launch, but I can already feel the game's additive pull trying to drag me back in!

I think I will rather concentrate on preparing for Christmas instead, so that come the 15th (when early access starts) I will have a relatively free schedule. If there is another new build before launch I'll log in and see what's changed, and I will probably continue playing my Bounty Hunter occasionally too. I know what the game is like now, and how polished it is, and any concerns I had have gone, so it's more a matter of waiting until launch now.

The other news this week is that this site now has a twitter feed, which you can access via the subscription buttons above or find here. I'll be using it to post updates about new articles here, as well as offering a few shorter and more succinct comments on things.

To finish off for now, here is the latest official character progression video from Bioware, this time for the Jedi Consular.

  1. Oh, I don't twitter, so apologies Bro, won't be following :(

It must be frustrating to have a feel for the game and want to continue playing yet know it's useless to progress any further...three weeks isn't so long tho.

Love to the family, hugs to the mites and hope the plague dissipates soon.
