Epics, Fan Films and a Day of Sex

Well, thanks to the help of my good buddy Voltaan I have finally managed to hit level 80 in Everquest 2 and have made a good start to obtaining my epic weapon. The grind for Synod Reet faction wasn't as bad as I was fearing and it's nice to continue with some of the more challenging content whilst exploring new places.

EQ2 is down today for Guild Update 61, The War of Zek. Amongst some new scalable instances one of the major additions with this update is the re-itemisation for all of the game's items between levels 20 and 90. That is tens of thousands of items and adornments that are being adjusted, and based on SOEs past history I'm a little bit worried at the mess they might make of things. Oh well, we'll see, I just hope I can still wear all my armour when I log back in!

Also on the EQ2 front there is a great new time lapse video of their production artists creating one of the new mount models from scratch. I love this kind of thing; I just cannot understand how they make it look so easy! There are some talented guys on that team. I've embedded the video below.

Another great video I came across this week is the following fan film for Portal 2. It looks really professional and the director has managed to achieve the "Portal" aesthetic beautifully. Have a look below.

Finally, I made an impulse buy yesterday. I wasn't planning on getting it, but following the very positive reviews and the fact I found it offer with 50% off, I decided to go ahead and purchase Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I have very fond memories of the original Deus Ex game, so I'm looking forwards to playing this new one over the weekend. I'll be posting my thoughts on the game next week.

  1. Had a lot of fun starting your epic with you and looking forward to much more. You have Chardok again, Karnor's Castle, Maidens Chamber, Chelsith and more to come!
